Skillful Meditation Project

The Head Teacher for the Spokane Vipassana Meditation Community, Jason Siff lives in California and is the founder of the Skillful Meditation Project. He practiced Vipassana Meditation and was trained as a teacher while a Buddhist monk in Sri Lanka during the late 1980's. Through his work as a meditation teacher and translator of Pali Buddhist texts, he has developed an easy and sensible approach to meditation that is consistent with Early Buddhist Teachings. Mary Webster teaches in this style in Spokane.

Zen Center of Spokane

This is a lay Zen group that practices together in the Zen Buddhist tradition under the guidance of their teacher Jack Duffy Roshi. Jack leads retreats in the Spokane area twice a year, as well as a week-long sesshin on the Olympic Peninsula near Seattle each April and November.

Sravasti Abbey

A Buddhist monastic community located in Newport, about an hour's drive north of Spokane. It is a monastery where women and men can study, practice, and train in the monastic lifestyle.
